Wikimedia Movement Charter and its impact for the ESEAP communities edit

Abstract/description edit

According to the current timeframe, the complete draft of the Movement Charter will be finalized and consulted on by the time of the ESEAP Conference 2024. This means that there is clear content on the Global Council, Hubs, and overall roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders in the movement. The conference will serve as a good place to discuss the impact of the Charter on the ESEAP communities and their future collaboration, as well as representation in the global movement.

The proposed session will provide an overview of the content of the Charter, highlighting potential impact areas for the ESEAP communities in particular. It will be followed by a discussion portion to ensure clarity regarding the content and increase ESEAP engagement in the conversations. As the ratification process for the Charter will happen shortly after the Conference, the participants will also be informed on how they can be involved.

Relationship to ESEAP or to the theme edit

The Movement Charter will outline the framework for the future collaboration in the movement and define the roles and responsibilities for the future movement, directly impacting the future collaboration in the ESEAP region.
